The service provides comprehensive annual support to educational establishments involved with the full range of educational visits, offsite activities, adventurous activity and learning outside the classroom. From simple local part day visits and sports fixtures to complex UK and overseas ventures.

My background is in Education and Learning, primarily in residential work and outdoor adventurous activities as a practitioner, leader, manager and adviser. Devising, organising, delivering and managing learning experiences for schools and young person services through a number of Local Authorities across England and Northern Ireland.

I have experience of the charitable sector, National Governing Bodies and the Sports Council.

I am a passionate advocate of ‘trips and visits’ for young people. These experiences provide practical hands on learning, bringing subject matter to life and contribute to ‘whole child’ development. I believe in the power of these experiences which can last a life time.

• Outdoor Education Service manager Warwickshire County Council (WCC) for over 15 years.
• Responsibilities as service manager included the role of the Local Authority’s Outdoor education and educational visits adviser, strategy and policy for Warwickshire’s residential and non-residential outdoor adventurous activity provision and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
• Principal Officer responsible for Local Authority Offsite Guidance implementation and development.
• Outdoor Education/Learning practitioner, manager and adviser for 30+ years in both residential and non-residential learning settings.
